Breakthrough in Modern Contraceptive Methods

Sexual life
The new project Hervana Bio represents an Israeli startup developing an innovative non-hormonal method of contraception. It promises reliable protection against unwanted pregnancy and reduces the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Key features of the product include its 100% effectiveness, confirmed by clinical studies, as well as the absence of side effects typical of hormonal contraception methods. The procedure takes the form of a convenient vaginal tablet, without invasive procedures, pain, or discomfort, making it appealing to many.
The innovative technology of Hervana Bio is based on the use of lactobacilli, widely used in probiotic products and naturally occurring in the vagina. These friendly bacteria not only prevent fertilization but also create a barrier against pathogenic microorganisms, reducing the risk of STI transmission.
Hervana Bio CEO Rachel Teitelbaum emphasizes that currently, there are no contraceptives that provide complete protection against STIs. The new product can significantly reduce the risk of STI transmission compared to those not using any contraception.
In addition, Hervana has already received support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, expecting a soon release.
